  • The PS2 is an older version. PS3 is the latest and upgraded version.

  • PS2 is less advanced features, and PS3 is more advanced features.
  • The graphics are not as good as the upgraded version, PS3 has much better graphics.
  • PS2 does not have an onboard WiFi feature. PS3 has an onboard WiFi feature.
  • Blu-ray discs can be played on the PS3, but not on the PS2.
  • Compared to the PS2, the PS3's graphics are significantly more impressive.
  • The External memory card is required in PS2, whereas the external memory card is not required it has built memory storage.
  • While the PS3 is not thought of as being backward compatible, the PS2 is and can play PSx games.
  • PS2 is a sixth-generation console, and PS3 is a seventh-generation console.

  • The online capability is not available on the PS2. PS3 supports extra features of online capability.

  • PS2 sells over 155 million units worldwide, and the PS2 remains the best-selling video game console of all time. The PS3 sold around 87 million units worldwide, making it a successful console though it didn't reach the sales figures of the PS2.
